As of 2007, 46 million African children of school age have never stepped foot in a classroom. There have many several initiative by multiple orgainizations to changes this. Being from the U.S., one of the richest countries in the world, we often take forgranted what we have. Most U.S. children at some time in thier life consider school a burden. Many children in Africa can only dream about getting and education. Even children who live in poverty in the U.S. have access to school. This is not the case in Africa, if the school fees are too costly, then the kids simply don't go. It may not seem like a big issue, but education is imperative. No child could get a decent job if they are illiterate.
