The Global Partnership for Education (GPE) was established is 2002. It is made of 46 developing countries. It provided $2.2 billion in financial aid from 2002-2009, more than 300,000 teachers were hired in the same time frame. The main mission of GPE is to provide every child with a quality education. Their efforts have been very successful in African countries. Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, and Ghana have all focused on improving the education for girls. The girls in the countries have been making huge strides on breaking stereotypes and becoming leaders. GPE gives the necessary additions that Africa needs to have successful schools.
